This Monday, Jan. 15 is the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. A federal holiday since 1983 that Congress later declared a national day of service in 1994, Monday’s holiday comes with a number of closures across the nation and locally. 

The City of Folsom has announced what is closed and what is open amongst its services Monday. City administrative offices will be closed Monday. A number of services will continue during the holiday. City officials have announced the following details on holiday services to assist the community in their plans:

  • Garbage service will be provided as usual; please place your cans curbside by 6 a.m. on your regular day of service.
  • Transit services will be available through the Folsom Stage Line operated by SacRT.
  • The Folsom Public Library is closed.
  • The Folsom Fire Department administrative services located at 535 Glenn Drive will be closed.
  • The Folsom Police Department administrative services and lobby located at 46 Natoma Street will be closed.
  • The Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; last admission is at 3:30 p.m.
  • The Andy Morin Sports Complex is open regular hours from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • The Steve Miklos Aquatic Center is open for lap swim and aquacise.
  • The FIDO Field Dog Park will be open from 7 a.m. to one hour after sunset.
  • The Folsom Skate and Bike Parks are open from 1 to 6 p.m.
  • The Folsom Senior Center, Folsom Art Center, and Gallery at 48 Natoma are closed.
  • Fun Factory, Kindergarten Readiness, and the after-school CAVE programs are closed.
