Sacramento County’s Bradshaw Animal Shelter is participating in Clear the Shelters – a month-long adoption event from Aug. 10 – Sept. 10, 2024, to alleviate the high impact of their animal intake. Currently, the shelter is overcrowded with animals and is in desperate need of adopters and foster care providers.
The shelter is offering waived adoption during the event, and adoptions are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The shelter is located at 3839 Bradshaw Road, Sacramento, CA 95827, and is open Tuesday through Sunday between noon and 5 p.m. and Wednesday between noon and 6 p.m.
“We are thrilled to partner with NBCUniversal Local once again for this wonderful adoption event,” said Annette Bedsworth, Director of Bradshaw Animal Shelter. “Our goal is to find loving homes for as many pets as possible.”
The shelter’s satellite Petco location in Fair Oaks will also waive fees during the event at 8840 Madison Ave, Fair Oaks, CA 95628. Shelter pets will be available for adoption at Petco Fair Oaks on Wednesdays between noon and 5 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays from 1 to 4:30 p.m.
Those interested in adopting can view available pets online by visiting the shelter’s website. Adoptions include spay or neuter surgery, current vaccines, a lifetime microchip registration and one-year licensing (for county residents).
