A wave of rhythm, soul, and summer vibes is set to sweep through Historic Folsom on Friday, June 21, when Grammy Award-winning icons Club Nouveau bring their signature sound to the Zittel Family Amphitheater as part of their Grassroots Tour. With the local Sugar High Band opening the show, the night promises a high-energy celebration of music, community, and connection in one of the region’s most intimate outdoor venues.
Formed in the heart of Sacramento in the 1980s, Club Nouveau quickly made their mark on the R&B landscape with unforgettable hits like “Rumors,” “Jealousy,” “Why You Treat Me So Bad,” and their chart-topping, Grammy-winning rendition of “Lean on Me.” Their distinctive blend of smooth harmonies, punchy funk-infused rhythms, and socially conscious lyrics helped define an era—and continues to inspire audiences decades later.
Nearly 40 years after their breakout, Club Nouveau is still going strong, delivering dynamic performances that blend nostalgia with fresh energy. The Grassroots Tour is a nod to their origins and community, with the goal of connecting fans across generations through the power of live music.
