City seeks resident input on design of new park planned for Empire Ranch Road
Residents are being invited to help shape the future of a new neighborhood park planned for the growing Folsom Plan Area as city officials launch the first phase of public engagement for Neighborhood Park #1.
The planned park, located at 3294 Empire Ranch Road, is still in its early design stages, and the City of Folsom is seeking community input to help guide its layout, features, and overall vision. Parks and Recreation officials say resident feedback will play a key role in ensuring the new park reflects the needs and priorities of the surrounding neighborhoods.
As part of the outreach effort, city staff will host two in-person community workshops designed to give residents a chance to learn more about the project, ask questions, and share ideas directly with park planners. The sessions mark the first formal opportunities for the public to engage in the design process for the future park.
The workshops are scheduled for Monday, Jan. 26, and Monday, Feb. 23, both beginning at 5:30 p.m. The meetings will be held in the multipurpose room at Alder Creek Elementary School, located at 4545 Old Ranch Way.
According to the City of Folsom, staff are particularly interested in hearing how residents envision using the park and what amenities are most important to them, whether that includes play areas, open green space, walking paths, or other recreational features. Input gathered during these early meetings will help inform concept plans as the project moves forward.
City officials say Neighborhood Park #1 is intended to serve as a gathering place for nearby residents and a long-term community asset, emphasizing accessibility, safety, and opportunities for recreation and connection.
