Folsom’s iconic Castle Park is set for a long-awaited makeover, and the city is inviting the community to help shape its transformation.
Folsom Parks & Recreation will host a special community workshop on Thursday, June 26, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Folsom Middle School multipurpose room, located at 500 Blue Ravine Road. The interactive, family-friendly session will give residents a chance to learn more about the upcoming renovation of the Folsom Kids Play Park and share their ideas for the future of the space.
First built by volunteers in 1993, the playground has long served as a destination for families, recognized for its whimsical wooden structures and imaginative design. As the city prepares to renovate the aging play area, planners are turning to the public for guidance on preserving its legacy while enhancing the features for a new generation of park visitors.
The workshop will include a project overview and breakout discussions for attendees of all ages to provide input. City officials hope to learn what features are most valued, what improvements are desired, and how the playground can continue to serve as a vibrant and inclusive space for all.
All members of the public are encouraged to attend, and no registration is required. For more information or questions about the project, email parkplanning@folsom.ca.us.
