RANCHO CORDOVA — Get ready to let the good times roll as the Crawfish and Catfish Festival returns to Rancho Cordova on Saturday, September 27, filling the KP International Market with authentic Louisiana flavor, music, and culture from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The event, presented by Louisiana Sue and Fleur de Lis Charities, is a free-admission block party that celebrates the spirit of Louisiana with traditional foods, live music, dancing, and family fun. Guests can expect the heart and soul of Cajun and Creole cooking, from classic crawfish boils to fried catfish, gumbo, etouffee, tamales, tacos, sushi rolls, and even grilled alligator. Dozens of food vendors will be on site, including Louisiana Heaven, Lizetta’s Southern Soul Food & BBQ, NorCal Tacos, Savory Dave BBQ, Shaniya’s, The Truck 707, Shea Butta Pudding Co., and more.

This year’s festival carries a deep history. The very first Crawdad Festival was born in 1986 after a meeting between Louisiana Sue and Isleton Hotel’s Charlie Hand. What began as a small Father’s Day weekend street party quickly grew, and by 1988, more than 100,000 people were flocking to the Delta for the annual tradition. Rancho Cordova’s celebration continues that legacy, bringing people together with food, music, and a festive Louisiana atmosphere.

The entertainment lineup is stacked with live performances throughout the day. Music kicks off at noon with Inner Soul, followed by Z Crewe Dancers, S.E.G. Get Your Feet Wet Productions, and West Coast Caravan of Blues All Stars. Legendary bluesman Fillmore Slim will be a featured headliner, bringing his trademark showmanship to the stage. The afternoon also includes a special line dancing showcase, C.I.E. Line Dancers, and a closing performance by Mojo Jones’n.

In addition to music and food, the festival offers family-friendly attractions with a petting zoo, bounce houses, toy vendors, and face painting. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, dancing shoes, and a big appetite.

Organizers emphasize that while admission is free, specialty drinks and certain attractions may carry a charge.
