Yes, it may be Saturday but it’s the first chance to meet Wednesday in Folsom, Wednesday Addams that is! It’s opening night for creepy, kooky Addams Family being presented by the talented youth thespians of the El Dorado Musical Theater (EDMT) at the Harris Center for the Arts.

Multiple generations are familiar with the Addams Family, whether it was the early television sitcom, the big screen movie or one of the later big screen cartoons in more recent years.

Regardless if you’ve seen them in one form or another or not at all, The Addams Family is a comical feast that embraces the wackiness in every family, features an original story centered around every father’s nightmare. Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family—a man her parents have never met.

If that wasn’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Gomez Addams must then do something he’s never done before: keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything changes for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.
