First responders in Folsom made a successful rescue of a disabled resident who was trapped in a second story home Monday evening.
Units from the Folsom Fire Department and the Folsom Police Department, with assistance from Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District responded to a reported structure fire in a residential home located on the 100 block of Tomlinson Drive in Folsom at 9:26 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6.
Upon dispatch, crews were notified of an audible alarm coming from a residence and a disabled occupant that was reportedly trapped in an upstairs bedroom of the home.
As fire personnel scene arrived on scene of the large two-story home, Folsom Police officers were on scene carrying a disabled victim out of the house. Smoke was noticed in the first story and a working fire was located on the second story, toward the back of the home.
Fire crews made search and rescue their highest priority by aggressively searching for additional victims, including pets, while aggressively attacking the fire, according to the incident report. Fire personnel extinguished the fire within 10 minutes of the first arriving fire engine. The fire was contained to a single room upstairs. The residents were able to re-occupy the home for the night. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

A total of four engine companies, two truck companies, one paramedic ambulance, two chief officers along with several Folsom Police patrol officers were dispatched to the scene.
