FOLSOM — El Dorado Musical Theatre is set to make a splash with its latest production, Disney’s Finding Nemo Jr., opening this Friday at the Harris Center for the Arts. The family-friendly musical will run from May 24 through June 2, bringing to life the beloved story of Marlin, Nemo, and their underwater friends.

This Rising Stars production features a talented cast of performers ranging from 6 years old through 8th grade. Directed by Zach Wilson, choreographed by Brittany Lansford, and with vocal direction by Scott Rivers, the show promises to be a delightful experience for audiences of all ages. The show features costume design by Karen McConnell and production by Jena Larsen add to the vibrant spectacle.

Finding Nemo Jr. is a musical adaptation of the 2003 Pixar movie Finding Nemo, with new music by award-winning songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. The story follows Marlin, an over-protective clownfish, as he embarks on a daring journey across the ocean to find his son, Nemo, who has been captured and taken to Sydney. Along the way, Marlin is joined by an array of lovable characters including the optimistic Dory, the laid-back sea turtle Crush, and the supportive Tank Gang. Together, they face numerous challenges and discover the true meaning of family and friendship.

Audiences can look forward to memorable songs such as “Just Keep Swimming,” “Fish Are Friends Not Food,” and “Go With the Flow,” which bring the colorful underwater world to life.

Performances of Finding Nemo Jr. will begin on Friday, May 24 at 7:00 PM. The show continues with two performances on Saturday, May 25 at 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM, followed by shows on Sunday, May 26 at 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM. The following week features evening performances on Thursday, May 30 and Friday, May 31, both at 7:00 PM. The final weekend includes shows on Saturday, June 1 at 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM, and concludes with a matinee on Sunday, June 2 at 2:00 PM.
