EL DORADO HILLS — One of the community’s most cherished holiday traditions returns this evening as the El Dorado Hills Fire Department launches its 2025 Santa Run, bringing Santa, Mrs. Claus, the Grinch, and a lively team of elves into neighborhoods across town. The festive caravan begins its first night of neighborhood visits Tuesday, Dec. 9, marking the start of a weeklong celebration designed to spread joy while supporting local families in need.
The Santa Run is part of the department’s annual Holiday Heroes Food and Toy Drive, benefiting Shriners Children’s Northern California and the Food Bank of El Dorado County. At each stop, residents are encouraged to donate new, unwrapped toys and non-perishable food items. Those unable to attend in person can drop donations at any of the five El Dorado Hills Fire Department stations through Friday, Dec. 12, or contribute online. A donation trailer travels with Santa each night, giving families a chance to support the effort while enjoying a tradition that has become a cornerstone of the local holiday season.
The 2025 Santa Run officially begins tonight, with Santa and the fire department visiting Oak Knoll Park at 5:30 p.m. at 3371 Alyssum Circle before traveling to Holy Trinity School at 6:20 p.m. at 3115 Tierra de Dios. The caravan continues to Sunset Estates at 7:10 p.m. along 1130 White Rock Road and ends the evening at Bayside Church at 7:50 p.m. at 800 White Rock Road.
The celebration continues Wednesday, December 10, when the Santa Run arrives at William Brooks Elementary School at 5:30 p.m. on Park Drive, followed by a visit to Parkview Heights Park at 6:20 p.m. on Ridgeview Drive. At 7:10 p.m., Santa visits the El Dorado Hills Community Services District headquarters on Harvard Way before concluding the evening at the Serrano Visitors Center at 8 p.m. on Serrano Parkway.

On Thursday, December 11, the route begins at Lake Forest Elementary School at 5:20 p.m. on Salisbury Drive, followed by Lakeview Elementary School at 6:15 p.m. on Brittany Way. Santa then continues to Jackson Elementary School at 7:10 p.m. on Francisco Drive before finishing the night in the Fairchild neighborhood at 8 p.m. at the Falkirk and Keswick intersection.
The final night of the run takes place Friday, December 12, beginning at the Four Seasons Visitors Center at 5:15 p.m. on Four Seasons Drive. The route then moves to the Heritage community at 6 p.m. on Pismo Drive, followed by Valley View Charter Montessori at 7:10 p.m. on Blackstone Parkway. The 2025 Santa Run concludes at District Church at 7:50 p.m. on Rossmore Lane.
Kickoff celebrations for the Santa Run began Saturday during the Town Center tree lighting ceremony, signaling the official start of the fire department’s annual holiday outreach.
