El Dorado Hills firefighters, neighbors keep fire from spreading at Serrano home

The El Dorado Hills Fire Department  responded to a house fire reported on the 6100 block of Western Sierra Way, located in the Serrano Community Saturday afternoon. Upon arrival, fire crews discovered that the fire consisted of two air conditioning units that had ignited, spreading to a small fence, and some groundcover next to the home. 

Thanks to the prompt and effective intervention by local residents, the fire was quickly contained and prevented from spreading to the nearby residence. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. 

The El Dorado Hills Fire Department praised the community’s vigilance and rapid response on their social media pages to help keep the fire spreading into the home prior to their arrival on the scene which played a crucial role in minimizing damage.
