A familiar face of generosity and holiday cheer will take center stage at this year’s Hometown Parade in the Folsom Historic District. The Folsom Historic District Association has announced that local restaurateur and philanthropist Eric Adams, owner of Bacchus House Bistro, will serve as the 2025 Grand Marshal of the beloved parade event set to roll down Sutter Street on Saturday, June 28.
Adams is known throughout the region not only for his culinary flair but for his unwavering dedication to the Folsom community. Over the years, he’s become a seasonal staple in Historic Folsom, best known for embodying a cherished holiday role that has brought magic and joy to thousands of families.
“Our parade committee and FHDA Board of Directors was thrilled to ask Eric Adams to be this year’s Grand Marshal at the Hometown Parade,” Judy Collinsworth, Executive Director of the Folsom Historic District Association (FHDA) shared with Folsom Times. “Eric first captured the heart of our historic district in 2020 when he stepped into a beloved holiday role that brought magic, joy, and wonder to families all across our community.”
What started as a single holiday appearance quickly became a tradition. Each year, Adams dedicates multiple days of the season to visiting with families, offering his warmth, kindness, and unmistakable laugh to children young and old. His efforts extend beyond the spotlight. Each season, he hosts a special night just for children with special needs and their families—an intimate, quiet evening that offers a safe and welcoming space to be celebrated.
“He also never forgets to give back to the helpers behind the scenes,” added Collinsworth. “Every year, Eric puts on a heartfelt thank-you dinner for the volunteers who support his efforts and help make the district sparkle during the holidays.”
Collinsworth also shared that Adams has also brought his flair to the parade itself—entering floats twice in past years and sweeping every award category each time, thanks to his creative, joy-filled, and over-the-top entries.
“Eric is not just generous—he’s an inspiration,” Collinsworth said. “His dedication to this community and to the joy of the season reminds us all what the holidays are truly about. We are incredibly proud to celebrate him as our 2025 Hometown Parade Grand Marshal!”
For Adams, the honor is a heartfelt one. Prior to the public announcement Thursday, he spoke with Folsom Times about being awarded the role.
“It is an absolute honor and privilege for me to be named by the Folsom Historic District as this year’s 2025 Grand Marshal for our Hometown parade celebration!” Adams told Folsom Times. “Folsom is an absolute gem! Not only is my restaurant, Bacchus House Bistro in Folsom, but my heart and soul resides here too.”
Adams continued, expressing his gratitude for being presented with the special role: “To be named Grand Marshal by our Historic District is such an honor. I am beyond grateful! Happy Summer Folsom and have a very happy 4th of July! God Bless Folsom and this beautiful community!”
The 2025 Hometown Parade promises to once again deliver the small-town charm and patriotic spirit that has become a signature of the Folsom Historic District. The event is free to attend and welcomes the community to line Sutter Street for a morning of music, color, and celebration.
The parade begins at 9:30 a.m. on June 28 and will feature creative entries from across the region. Local nonprofits, school groups, performing teams, clubs, and community members are encouraged to participate. Applications are still being accepted.
