Everyone is welcome to experience our special 25th Annual Folsom Juneteenth Celebration.

Come and discover “hidden figures” from our 1848 California Gold Mining District surrounding early mining towns of Coloma, Negro Bar, Mormon Island and Negro Hill. Together, we share our 25 year journey keeping public Folsom Juneteeneth events alive before our Title 5 Federal Holiday.

Indigenous Nisenan and Miwuk Nation Elders are invited to share their authentic story pre-Leidesdorff Ranch 1844 Mexican Land Grant history.

Documentation and preservation of our collective past and present for distant future generations along today’s American River Parkway is essential.

Old Folsom residents can best share family stories and honor our unique Folsom History.

Our “California Journey from Slavery Freedom” this special California 160th Anniversary Year of Juneteenth, marks the symbolic end of Slavery in America at the close of our U.S. Civil War.

Both free and enslaved early California Pioneers of Pan African ancestry played major roles before, during and after our California Gold Mining Era (1840-1875.)

Nearly 2,000 US Colored Troops reportedly enlisted from California and served during the US Civil War helping to preserve the Union and end chattel slavery throughout California and the nation.

Our 2025 Folsom Juneteenth Celebration will feature the Leidesdorff Legacy with apart of the United Negro College Fund as we seek to engage Federal status utilizing the 1906 US Antiquity Act, helping us document and preserve authentic American History here in our California Gold Mining District.

Join us celebrate unsurpassed contributions by California Pioneers of Pan African Ancestry along Rancho Rio de Los Americanos, Leidesdorff Ranch by engaging key local/regional/national businesses leaders and key allies throughtout the world.
