Progress continues on the City of Folsom’s major water infrastructure improvement project, with a series of closures, paving work, and construction activity scheduled through mid-August across several key locations in the city.

Crews are actively working along Oak Avenue and East Bidwell Street, as well as on the Oak Parkway Trail, as part of the city’s effort to upgrade essential utility lines and roadway surfaces.

The Oak Parkway Trail remains closed to both pedestrians and cyclists through August 10 while crews conduct shoulder repairs and utility installations. Striping for the trail is expected to take place in late July as that portion of the project nears completion.

On Oak Avenue, pavement repairs begin July 18 on both the northern and southern sections. The northern segment will undergo asphalt overlay on July 23, followed by manhole and valve adjustments on July 24 and 25, and road striping on July 28 and 29. The southern section follows close behind, with paving scheduled for July 25, utility adjustments from July 26 to 29, and striping on July 30 and 31.

Meanwhile, pipe installation along the northern portion of East Bidwell Street will conclude on July 23, with pressure testing immediately following. Crews will then move to the middle section of East Bidwell for pipe installation between July 25 and August 6, and transition to the southern section from August 7 to 10.

Residents in the impacted areas should be prepared for intermittent lane closures, traffic delays, and brief water service interruptions during pressure testing phases. City officials note that anyone affected by water outages will receive advance notice.
