A night of NorCal based hard rock is set for this Saturday at The Boardwalk, with Sacramento-based Eyes Eternal headlining a multi-band showcase that also features Ferrocene and Failure by Proxy, bringing together three acts with deep roots in the regional rock scene.
Formed in Sacramento in 2019, Eyes Eternal blends heavy guitar-driven rock with melodic hooks and introspective lyricism, drawing on each member’s musical influences to shape a sound centered on intensity and emotional expression. The band’s early rise was slowed by the COVID-19 pandemic, which halted live performances just as momentum was building. During that period, Eyes Eternal focused on writing and recording, completing its self-titled debut album in late 2023 with the goal of capturing the raw energy of its live show.
The group continued to evolve in 2024 with the addition of synth player and backing vocalist Abigail Braun, adding layered piano textures and expanded vocal harmonies. That progression carried into the summer of 2025, when the band recorded a new EP. The project’s first single, “Safe Word,” is scheduled for release Jan. 15, 2026.
Opening the night is Ferrocene, a Sacramento-based band that blends shoegaze atmospherics with nu-metal influences. Ferrocene balances ambient soundscapes and melodic vocals with heavier breakdowns, creating a textured, emotionally driven sound.
Also on the bill is Failure by Proxy, a Galt-based rock band formed in 2017 with a foundation in nu-metal and modern hard rock. The band has undergone multiple lineup changes while maintaining a steady presence in Northern California’s live music scene. Failure by Proxy has shared stages with numerous national touring acts, earned multiple Sacramento News & Review SAMMIES nominations for Best Hard Rock Band, and won the 2024 Local Band Smokeout Tournament of Champions after competing against more than 500 bands.
The Boardwalk is located at 9426 Greenback Lane in Orangevale. Long regarded as one of the region’s most established live music venues, The Boardwalk regularly hosts local, regional, and touring artists in an intimate setting that places audiences close to the stage.
