Springtime celebration returns to Folsom this weekend as the City of Folsom Parks and Recreation Department hosts the 3rd Annual Festival of Eggs, promising a morning full of interactive fun, games, and colorful surprises for families with young children. The event takes place Saturday, April 19 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Lembi Park, located at 1302 Riley Street in Folsom.

Open to children ages 10 and under, the Festival of Eggs builds on the city’s former Spring Eggstravaganza and offers a more engaging and less crowded alternative to the traditional dash-style egg hunts of the past. This updated format allows every child to take their time collecting eggs and goodies while enjoying the other amenities of the park.

Upon arrival, each child will receive a Bunny Trail Map, which guides them along a festive route through vendor booths and activity stations throughout the park. Along the way, children will collect colorful eggs, sweet treats, and spring-themed prizes. The trail ends with a photo opportunity with the Easter Bunny—an annual tradition and a highlight for many families.

Those who complete all the stops along the Bunny Trail will receive a ticket for the Golden Egg Chance Drawing, giving them the opportunity to win a special Golden Egg prize. It’s just one of several added features that make the event memorable and rewarding for participants.

In addition to the trail, the event will include a pancake breakfast available for purchase, and free kiddie carnival games hosted by the Folsom Teen Council. Games and activities are designed to be age-appropriate and encourage participation for all experience levels. Entertainment and vendor displays will also be on site, contributing to the festive, family-friendly atmosphere.

To keep things organized and ensure a quality experience for all, the city is staggering arrival times. Families with children ages 6 and under are encouraged to arrive between 8:00 and 9:30 a.m., while those with children ages 7 to 10 should arrive between 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. Families are reminded to bring baskets or bags for collecting eggs and prizes during the Bunny Trail experience.

With plenty of photo opportunities, take-home goodies, and activities designed for the entire family, the Festival of Eggs has quickly become one of Folsom’s favorite springtime traditions.
