As previously reported in a Folsom Times news article. Folsom Cordova Unified School District (FCUSD) Superintendent Dr. Sarah Koligian has announced her retirement at the end of the 2024 school year and the FCUSD has since launched its search to fill this vital role ahead.
Using the contracted services of specialized education search firm, McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C, to search for its next Superintendent, the FCUSD has announced a series of three different Focus Group Feedback meetings spanning from this week into next, in an effort to engage the community in the hunt for the ideal candidate to fill the void in which Koligian will leave at her time of departure.
The district has issued what it refers to a Stakeholder Input Session Schedule Invitation for the Focus Group Feedback in which they welcome either in person, or virtually. The scheduled meetings are Feb.8 from 5 -6 pm which will be a virtual meeting. Feb. 14 from 4 -5 pm which will be virtual and a final meeting on Feb. 15 from 5 to 6 p.m. which will be an in person meeting that will be held at Cordova Lane Center, 2460, Cordova Lane in Rancho Cordova.

“The Folsom Cordova Unified School District Board of Education welcomes input from our community partners as part of the process of selecting the next Superintendent. Please feel free to join a virtual or an in-person meeting,” said Angela Griffin Ankhelyi, Chief Communications & Community Engagement Officer in an email announcing the series of meetings.
According to the district, the meetings that will last approximately one hour. For those that want to participate by are unable to attend the meetings, they are being invited to participate in the online survey which includes the same questions being asked at the meetings. The online survey (available in English can be found by clicking here. The survey is open until 5 pm on February 15.
The input questions those can expect participating in the online survey are as follows:

- Tell us the good things about your schools.
- What issues should the superintendent be aware of as he/she comes into the district?
- What skills, qualities or characteristics should the new superintendent possess to be successful here?
- Please indicate the stakeholder group you represent.

- Student
- Parent
- Community Member
Community input responses will be collected and shared with the board in a report which will be anonymous but will list input by group categories only. The document will be made public at an upcoming board meeting on March 7 and will be available on the district website www.fcusd.org, and will be used to inform the Superintendent recruitment and selection process.
