Nine staff members have been selected as Folsom Cordova Unified School District’s (FCUSD) Classified Employees of the Year across various sectors within the district.
The newest nominees will now advance to the Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) Classified Employee of the Year Program, which aims to recognize classified staff for exceptional job performance and distinguished contributions, according to a media release from the FCUSD.
“We are delighted to acknowledge the tireless efforts of these exceptional staff members who consistently strive to foster a positive and collaborative climate within our school community — and help our students thrive,” the district said in a statement. “We are immensely proud of all our devoted staff members for working hand-in-hand with their colleagues to mold a promising future for every student.”
The 2024 FCUSD’s Classified Employees of the Year include: Janet McCarthy, Clerical and Administrative Services; Scott Gontjes, Custodial and Maintenance Services; Jeannie Greenbaum, Food and Nutrition Services; Paige Wise, Health Services; Svetlana Gerasenkova, Paraprofessional Services; Leonora Torrez, Security Services; Tim Ortiz, Skilled Trade Services; Samuel Portilla, Technical Services; Maria “Isabel” Diego, Transportation.
As nominees in the SCOE Classified Employee of the Year Program, they have the opportunity to compete at the county level, with the chance to advance to the esteemed California School Recognition Program.
“Their contributions not only enrich the FCUSD community but also serve as an inspiration to all,” the district said. “Congratulations to the Classified Employees of the Year, and thank you for your unwavering commitment to educational excellence.”
