The Filthy Kids bring their indie rock style to The Boardwalk in Orangevale this Saturday, Jan. 27 in an evening that features four bands on stage, including Fonty, Shove it and Light the Way in a show for all ages.

Straight out of the heart of Sacramento, The Filthy Kids are bringing together the best elements of indie rock, noise pop and good ol’ fashion punk to form something uniquely their own. High energy grooves mixed with edgy guitar riffs and big beats will get you moving and their infectious hooks will live in your mind for weeks at a time.

Self described “indie rock generates”, Fonty has been rocking the 916 since 2017. They bring a unique fusion of cynicism and hope into their music, creating bittersweet songs that leave an impact. Soulful hooks and powerful riffs blended with lyrics to think about, make for an artfully complex listening experience that haunts your brain, in the best of ways.

Formed in 2006 in Sacramento, ‘Shove It’ has been making skate punk music and playing gigs off and on for nearly 20 years, according to the Boardwalk show bill. Originally a four-piece consisting of Jason Lemen (Hypnotic Four) on guitar, Paul (Leisure Sports) on drums, Bean (Black Knight Satellite) on bass and Chris (Three Hole Face) on vocals, Shove It finally became a punk rock Voltron in 2010 with the addition of Crow (Six Cents, Lesdystics) on guitar.

Light The Way is a four-piece blends their favorite brands of punk rock: pop punk, skate punk, and melodic hardcore. Their oftentimes tongue-in-cheek lyrics are intended to speak truth and positivity in a world filled with divisiveness and chaos.

Saturday’s show begins at 8:00 p.m. and is ages ages with a paying adult. The Boardwalk is located at 9426 Greenback Lane in Orangevale. Tickets and more information can be found at www.rocktheboardwalk.com
