A vegetation fire in North Auburn has prompted evacuation orders Tuesday, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The fire ignited off Sisson Road late Tuesday afternoon. The incident has since been named the Sisson Fire and is one of several wildfires burning in the region Tuesday.
At the last update around 5:20 p.m. Cal Fire estimated the blaze at approximately two to three acres, posing a potential threat to structures nearby.
Deputies from the sheriff’s office evacuated residences on Country Side Lane and Sierra Park Lane.
An “evacuation order” indicates an immediate threat to life and requires mandatory evacuation.
At 6:05 p.m. incident command issued an update that the fire had been contained at 5.76 acres per. In addition, an evacuation warning that was issued for the area per Placer County Sheriff’s remains in place.
