Officers from the Folsom Police Department arrested a 36-year-old Cameron Park man Sunday afternoon after he reportedly brandished a weapon and made threats to patrons of the Palladio shopping center.

At 6:10 p.m. on Jan. 15, officers responded to a 911 call that reported a male subject that brandished a firearm and threatened victims in the parking garage of the shopping center. Upon arrival, the victims were able to provide officers with a suspect description of the male.

Officers searched the area and located the male suspect matching the description. Officers detained the male and located an unregistered firearm, illegal possession of prescription pills, and over $26,000 in cash. 

According to Folsom Police, George Vasquez, 36, of Cameron Park was reportedly arrested and booked into the Sacramento county jail on charges of possession of drug sales, possession of a firearm with illegal drugs, carrying a non- registered handgun, and criminal threats.

“Our officers are committed to keeping the Folsom community safe from narcotics and the inherent dangers associated with drug sales,” reads a social media statement by the Folsom Police Department regarding the incident.
