Firefighters from the City of Folsom Fire Department, alongside the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District responded to a structure fire at a two-story single-family residence in Folsom early Tuesday morning. The blaze, which broke out on the 200 block of Gainsborough Circle in Folsom, was brought under control within 21 minutes in the early morning hours and returned to the scene several hours later for an additional flare up.

Emergency personnel received the 9-1-1 call just before 2:00 am on Tuesday and dispatched a total of four engine companies, two truck companies, one paramedic ambulance, and four chief officers to the scene. Firefighters from Folsom Fire Station 36 were the first to arrive. Upon arrival, crews encountered a heavily involved fire, with flames showing from the roof and second-story windows. The house was filled with smoke, and the fire had spread extensively through the second story and attic.

Firefighters immediately launched an offensive attack to prevent the fire from engulfing the entire structure. After a thorough search, it was determined that the house was unoccupied at the time of the fire. Firefighters were able to contain the fire within 21 minutes, according to Folsom Battalion Chief Ben Signor.

According to Signor, the fire appears to have originated near the rear corner of the house, though the cause is still under investigation. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the fire.

Later Tuesday morning just after 10:45 a.m, Folsom firefighters returned to the scene to address a reported flair up in the damaged attic of the home.

According to a neighbor who briefly spoke with Folsom Times, the occupants of the home moved out approximately a week ago and the home just recently went on the market for sale.
