Rodeo fans in Folsom will have the option for a second serving of rodeo action this year as the three day Folsom Pro Rodeo has announced it will have a fourth day of rodeo action that will consist of the inaugural Sacramento Sheriff’s Rodeo on July 6, just one day after the traditional rodeo that takes place July 3,4,5 at Dan Russell arena.

“The Folsom Pro Rodeo is thrilled about this partnership with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s and is excited to bring y’all a fourth night of rodeo,” said a statement shared by the Folsom Chamber of Commerce announcing the additional event. “Don’t miss the rodeo action at the Folsom Pro Rodeo this July 3, 4 & 5, and enjoy the first annual Sacramento Sheriff’s Rodeo on July 6th, dedicated to the Pro/Am Sacramento Sheriff’s Rodeo.”

The one day Sacramento Sheriff’s Rodeo is being presented in part by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Foundation (SCSF).  The SCSF supports the Sheriff’s Office by providing equipment, training, and aid to employees and their families.

The SCSF focuses on combating drug use and gang activity among young students while bringing together donors, leaders, and nonprofits to back philanthropic projects within the community. These initiatives improve law enforcement techniques and services, aiming to enhance safety and reduce crime in Sacramento County, according to their website.

The Folsom Pro Rodeo has been entertaining spectators from Folsom and afar for more than six decades. The continuation of this event is due to the efforts the staff of the Folsom Chamber of Commerce and the business community that supports the event year after year.
