A fresh chapter has begun in Historic Folsom as The Folsom Café officially reopened its doors Thursday evening under new ownership. Community members joined the Folsom Chamber of Commerce and the Folsom Historic District Association for a celebratory ribbon-cutting, marking the return of the beloved Sutter Street spot with refreshments, smiles, and renewed energy.

Located at 727 Sutter Street, Suite B, The Folsom Café is now operated by Amy Pierce, her mother-in-law Susie Pierce, and sister-in-law Ashley Pierce—an El Dorado Hills trio bringing new life to the café while preserving its familiar neighborhood charm. Their shared vision is to create a welcoming space centered on community, quality, and connection.

“My background is in wine, my sister-in-law Ashley has a background in coffee, and my mother-in-law Susie brings her own expertise to the table with just about everything,” Amy Pierce said at Thursday’s celebration. “We were thrilled to have the chance to embark on this journey together. It’s been such a joy to create something meaningful as a family.”

The Pierce family officially took ownership of the café in December 2024. Since then, they’ve refreshed operations while keeping the name and friendly atmosphere intact. The updated menu features a thoughtfully curated selection of espresso drinks, cold brew, teas, smoothies, and refreshers. Guests can also enjoy a rotating variety of fresh pastries, light breakfast options, and lunch items including sandwiches and salads. Grab-and-go selections make it an ideal stop for both busy mornings and casual visits.

“We are so excited to have such a wonderful family running The Folsom Cafe. They have the enthusiasm and work ethic to have a thriving business,” said Judy Collinsworth, Executive Director of the Folsom Historic District Association. “We are so happy to welcome them to the District here tonight.”

In addition to its coffee offerings, The Folsom Café will serve a rotating selection of craft beer and wine—giving patrons a relaxed option for afternoon or early evening enjoyment. This addition adds another layer to the café’s community-centered experience and expands its appeal throughout the day and early evening.

As a true family-run business, the new owners work side by side to serve guests and shape the café’s identity. Their goal is to make every customer feel like a regular—from a friendly greeting to the final sip.The family’s investment in the Historic District doesn’t stop there. Amy and her husband, Justin, are also preparing to open a Ben & Jerry’s scoop shop just down the street at 711 Sutter Street, inside the former Season’s 916 location. Together, these ventures represent a growing Historic District.

In additional to the welcoming by Choose Folsom and the Folsom Chamber, the Pierce family also were recognized at welcomed by Folsom Vice Mayor Justin Raithel and representatives from the offices of Supervisor Rosario Rodriguez, Assemblyman Josh Hoover and Senator Roger Niello.

Now open and already welcoming a steady stream of locals and visitors, The Folsom Café is once again serving the community with heart, hospitality, and handcrafted drinks. For more information, including the full menu and online ordering, visit www.lovefolsomcafe.com.
