The buzz is building at the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary as it prepares to host a sweet celebration of National Honey Bee Day on Saturday, August 16. From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., visitors can immerse themselves in a morning dedicated to the vital role pollinators play in the ecosystem while enjoying a range of fun and flavorful activities.

Guests can explore educational displays highlighting the life and work of honey bees and watch live demonstrations — safely enclosed — that showcase how these essential pollinators create the golden treat we all enjoy. For those with a sweet tooth, honey tasting tables will offer samples of fresh, hive-to-table honey harvested right at the zoo. Jars of the local honey will be available for purchase, with last year’s supply selling out quickly.
