For those that can’t make it to one of the upcoming Folsom Cordova Unified High School graduation ceremonies due to distance or seating limitations, a collaboration between a local media resource and the Folsom Cordova Unified School District each the local ceremonies will be live streamed.

In collaboration with the Folsom Cordova Unified School District (FCUSD), Folsom Times and TV and the faculty of each participating school, the locally owned and operated online news resource will be providing viewers the opportunity to view ceremonies from Folsom High School, Vista del Lago High School and Cordova High. All the of ceremonies will be available live, as they happen as well as being archived for later viewing and sharing.

Since 2018, Adam Frick, co-founder of Folsom TV has been live streaming the area graduations though the Folsom TV platform. In 2023, Frick joined with longtime area journalist and business leader Bill Sullivan to form All Town Media LLC and Folsom Times, an all-digital news resource for the communities of Folsom, El Dorado Hills, Rancho Cordova and he Highway 50 corridor. Since its launch, Folsom Times has grown to become the a top local online source for local area news and was recently named the Emerging Business of the Year in the 2024 Choose Folsom Community Awards. Now, the combination of all the media entities will bring the livestream of local graduations to what will be its largest audience yet.

For many years, our local high schools have struggled with the challenge of seating availability for each of their annual ceremonies. With a limited number of tickets being issued to each family, the long standing process created a problem for those with larger or extended families often turning to social media groups in hopes of finding unused tickets, which were rarely available. Some people even turned to selling their extra tickets in the past.

A longtime innovator, Frick saw this growing issue and came up with a solution to help the schools and their student families by live streaming the graduations and making the audience at home feel like they are a part of their graduates big day. The FCUSD welcomed the concept and the rest in history.

The livestreaming of local graduation goes beyond the seating challenge, it allows older families that may be home bound with health concerns or disabilities to see their younger generations graduation. It also allows relatives of graduates across the globe to opportunity to watch their loved ones reach a life milestone. The multi-camera set up and team at each ceremony will provide a viewing experience as if they were in attendance from the moments the class of 2023 marches in the stadium.

“Now with the tremendous growth of Folsom Times and All Town Media LLC, we get the opportunity to make this livestream available in even a bigger way, through our award winning and top news resource right here locally.
