Members of the Folsom Cordova Unified School District (FCUSD) staff and leadership team received two awards at the California School Public Relations Association Annual Conference in Sacramento last week. The event is celebrated annually for its exceptional collaboration and recognition of school districts across the state.
In addition to their own accolades, FCUSD team members had the honor of presenting at the event. Angela Griffin Ankhelyi, FCUSD’s Chief Communications and Community Engagement Officer, and Pam Oien, FCUSD’s Director of Education Technology, collaborated to deliver a powerful presentation titled “Strategic Collaboration: Bridging the Gap Between Communication and IT Departments,” according to the district. Their discussion emphasized the importance of synergy between these crucial departments for enhanced electronic communication.
The Folsom Cordova USD Communication and Community Engagement team, consisting of Angela Griffin Ankhelyi, Robin Mandeville, and Gammenia Vrioni, in collaboration with FCUSD Superintendent Dr. Sarah Koligian, received prestigious accolades for the following exceptional efforts:
- Award of Merit for State of Our Schools Booklet (2022-2023): FCUSD’s commitment to transparency and communication excellence was recognized with the Award of Merit for the State of Our Schools Booklet, providing comprehensive insight into the district’s achievements and future goals.
- Award of Excellence for Special Edition of FCUSD’s “In the Loop with the Supt.” Video Series: FCUSD’s “In the Loop with the Supt” video series follows Superintendent Dr. Sarah Koligian as she takes viewers onto school campuses and inside classrooms to provide a firsthand look at student learning and positive experiences within FCUSD schools. “We are immensely proud to have received this award for a special episode where we give viewers a look at our 2022-2023 State of Our Schools event and update the community on important FCUSD news,” Ankhelyi shared in a post-conference recap.
