The Folsom City Council convenes for its regular meeting and the final one of July this coming Tuesday with several items up for discussion amongst the public hearing portion of the evening from including zoning changes, speed limits, utility charges, fee schedules, and affordable housing initiatives Here ais quick glance of what to expect in this week’s meeting, as well as the entire meeting agenda below.  The public is always encouraged to attend and participate in the discussions at Folsom’s City Council meetings.

The meeting will begin with the Consent Calendar, which includes routine items that may be approved with a single motion unless a councilmember requests further discussion. Items on the Consent Calendar include the approval of the July 9, 2024, Special and Regular Meeting Minutes, the appointment of two at-large members to the Folsom Landscaping and Lighting District Advisory Committee, and Ordinance No. 1346 for a zoning amendment related to the 1000 East Natoma Residential Project. Additionally, Resolution No. 11237 will authorize an agreement for replacing the generator at the City of Folsom Water Treatment Plant.

Following the Consent Calendar, the council will hold a public hearing on several significant issues. Ordinance No. 1347 will be introduced for the adoption of prima facie speed limits on Folsom Lake Crossing, White Rock Road, and Savannah Parkway. The council will also discuss Resolution No. 11232, which aims to address delinquent utility charges by requesting Sacramento County to collect such charges on the tax roll. Further, Resolution No. 11233 seeks to update the City Impact and Connection Fee Schedule for various services, and Resolution No. 11235 will enact the annual inflationary adjustment for city user fees for planning.

Additionally, the council will review Resolution No. 11236, which approves the final engineer’s report for multiple landscaping and lighting districts for the fiscal year 2024-2025. These districts include American River Canyon North, Blue Ravine Oaks, Briggs Ranch, Broadstone, Cobble Ridge, Folsom Heights, Lake Natoma Shores, Natoma Station, Prairie Oaks Ranch, Sierra Estates, Steeplechase, Willow Creek Estates, and more.

In new business, the council will consider Resolution No. 11234, which proposes an affordable housing loan of $2.7 million from the city’s Housing Fund to Pacific West Communities, Inc. This loan aims to support the construction of 52 affordable housing units at the proposed Harrington Grove Multifamily Affordable Housing Development.
