Baker’s Dozen celebrate grand opening of second shop with ribbon cutting Thursday
When it comes to sweet business success in Folsom, Baker’s Dozen Donuts is undoubtedly high on that list, for both the sweet treats and the success. After being in business locally for 35 years, the company celebrated in grand fashion this week with a ribbon cutting at its brand-new second location in Broadstone Marketplace.
After serving up their tasty delights at 717 East Bidwell Street since 1989, the family-owned and operated donut shop will now be able to better serve the eastern side of East Bidwell, including the communities of Broadstone, Empire Ranch, and others, at 2700 E Bidwell Street, Suite 300. The new location is a neighbor to Visconti’s, Sacramento Pizza Company, Land Ocean, Pita Place, Taiko Sushi and more in the same section of the center.
On Wednesday, the owners and staff of Baker’s Dozen will were joined by representatives from the Folsom Chamber of Commerce/Choose Folsom, various dignitaries from the city, county, and state, and the community at large for an official ribbon cutting at the brand-new second location..
Baker’s Dozen Donuts is operated today by Richard and Sopha Tep. The couple took over the shop in 2018, keeping the business that was long operated by Sopha’s aunt Cindy before the new generation took over day-to-day operations.
The couple are natives of Cambodia who moved to the United States in 2006. Prior to serving donut lovers in Folsom daily, Rathanac honed his donut-making skills in Newport Beach at the well-known Seaside Donut Bakery.
Not only does Baker’s Dozen sell boxes of donuts to residents and businesses every day, but they also custom-make each one, from traditional plain old-fashioned donuts to tasty buttermilk bars, maple bars, and specialties like cronuts, fruit-flavored eclairs, cream puffs, and much more. Throughout the seasons, you can find many custom-decorated donuts to fit various themes, from football season to Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, and more.
Keep up with Baker’s Dozen Donuts on their Facebook page, but the true treat is visiting Richard, Sopha and their staff in person and indulging in one or many of their creations in town, whether its their new location or their original spot.
