Firefighters quickly contained a residential fire Monday afternoon on Misty Meadow Drive in Folsom, preventing significant damage to a two-story home.
The call came in at approximately 3:50 p.m., reporting smoke and flames visible from the rear of the residence. A full response to the call included five engine companies, three truck companies, one paramedic ambulance, and two chief officers, totaling 24 firefighters. Responding units included Engine 38 from District 39 and resources from the El Dorado Hills Fire Department.
Upon arrival, crews encountered a tree, a fence, and an exterior corner of the residence fully involved in flames. Firefighters extinguished the fire within eight minutes, successfully preventing further spread and minimizing damage. Moderate exterior damage was reported to the home and fence. Crews remained on-site to inspect for fire extension into the walls and attic. Additionally, one neighboring home was ventilated for smoke intrusion, though no fire damage occurred.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, according to Battalion Chief Ben Signor wo was serving as the Incident Commander.
