Firefighters from Folsom and El Dorado Hills are on the scene of a structure fire in Folsom Friday night.
At 9:40 p.m. firefighters from both neighboring agencies were dispatched to the 1900 block of Wesley Drive in Folsom. Folsom Police also responded to the scene and reported that the home had already been evacuated on their arrival.
Upon arrival, firefighters reported a working fire involving the garage of the home. Radio traffic indicated firefighters were initiating water supply to attack the fire and fire entry from the exterior of the garage while checking the living area of the home and the attic for fire extension.
Units responding to incident include Folsom Truck 35 and three engines plus two precautionary medic units and abattalion chief unit. . Units from El Dorado Hills that were dispatched include El Dorado Hills Truck 85, one engine and a battalion chief unit.

Update 9:57 PM: Firefighters report no extension into the living space or attic of the home and are forcing entry through the garage doors to attach the active fire.
Update 10:01 PM: Firefighters report fire is contained to the garage the home. One crew is the working active fire, secondary crew has been assigned to interior property protection and recovery.
Update 10:07 PM: Fire command reports the incident can be handled with all Folsom units and is releasing El Dorado Hills units from the incident to be available for other calls.
Update 10:56 PM: Firefighters mopping up and ordering board up to secure the home. Five Folsom units remain on scene.
Cause of the fire is unknown at this time and currently under investigation.
