Annual event showcases Northern California’s top high school bands at Prairie City Stadium

FOLSOM — The sound of brass, drums, and hometown pride will fill Prairie City Stadium once again as the 22nd Annual Folsom Fall Festival Marching Band Competition takes place Saturday, November 1. Hosted by the Folsom High School Music Boosters, the event is one of the region’s most anticipated celebrations of student musicianship and community spirit.

The festival begins at 7 p.m. and will feature performances from some of Northern California’s most talented high school marching bands and color guards. Each ensemble will take the field in competition, showcasing precision, choreography, and musical artistry before a panel of judges. The event consistently draws hundreds of spectators and is considered a must-see for fans of live performance and marching band culture alike.

Folsom High School’s own award-winning Marching Band and Color Guard—fresh off multiple Music Sweepstakes titles at Del Oro, Napa, and Fairfield, and top brass honors at every festival this season—will perform an exhibition of their brand-new field show during the evening. Their performance has become a highlight of the annual festival, offering audiences a chance to see why the Folsom program is among the most respected in the state.

The festival runs from 7 to 10 p.m. at Folsom High School’s Prairie City Stadium, located at 1655 Iron Point Road in Folsom. Admission is $15 for general entry, $10 for students, military personnel, and seniors age 60 and older, while children four and under are admitted free. Tickets are available at the gate, and additional event information can be found at www.folsommusic.org.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Folsom High School Music Boosters, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting excellence in music education. For more than 20 years, the boosters have provided essential volunteer and financial support for the school’s award-winning music programs, which participate in parades, football games, community events, and competitions throughout the year.

The annual Folsom Fall Festival remains a cornerstone of the local arts calendar—a chance for students to shine, families to celebrate, and the community to rally behind the next generation of musicians.
