After decades of serving the community with fashionable apparel and accessories, one of Folsom’s longtime retailers is closing its doors. Apricot Lane, located in Folsom’s Palladio at Broadstone, will close this month as its local franchise owner prepares for retirement.
“It is with mixed emotions that we announce the closing of our beloved boutique. After many wonderful years serving our community, our store owner has decided to retire. This decision comes after much reflection and with a deep sense of gratitude for all the support and loyalty we have received from each of you,” reads a statement shared with the community by the staff and management of the Folsom location. “Thank you for being a part of our journey. We will always cherish the memories and friendships we have made along the way.”
Apricot Lane Boutique brands itself as the No. 1 women’s fashion franchise. Based in nearby Vacaville, the company attributes its success to training franchisees to be the fashion destination in their local market. It strives to bring in new styles earlier and more often than competitors, offers reasonable prices, and ultimately wins loyal fans for what it describes as a “one-of-a-kind shopping experience, uniquely designed and merchandised with the latest fashion apparel, jewelry, handbags, accessories, and gifts in the styles and trends customers are looking for,” according to its franchise website.
Apricot Lane Boutique franchises are independently owned and operated, each carrying its own curated selection of merchandise and pricing. The Folsom location has been a longtime fixture at Folsom’s Palladio, serving as a go-to place for brands such as CC Beanie, Dreamers, Hem and Thread, Lush, Vanilla Bay, and more. But as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end, and now retirement is the focus.
As of Monday, the store had increased its clearance sale to 50% off. The owners are also in the process of finding buyers for their fixtures as they clear their shelves. It’s expected the store will remain open throughout January or until the last fashion item is sold at a discounted price.
“We anticipate our last day of operation will be Jan. 30, 2025. Until then, we will continue to offer the high-quality products and exceptional service you have come to expect. We invite you to visit us during this time and take advantage of special discounts on our remaining inventory,” they said in their announcement.
