The Folsom Fire Department contained a vegetation early Friday evening that was a threat to structures in a well populated neighborhood with plenty of dry vegetation to fuel the flames in windy conditions, 

At 5:18 p.m. units were dispatched to the blaze after it was reported through a 911 call. The fire broke out in the backyard of a home on the 9800 block of Mosswood Circle in Folsom.  As of 6:15 p.m., firefighters reported that the fire had been fully extinguished and several units remained on scene mopping up the fire area that was contained to the backyard of the home. No structures were damaged, however a fence was burned in the blaze.

A total of six Folsom engines responded to the fire and one Battalion Unit. As of 6:20 p.m. four engines and crews remained on the scene for mop up. At this time the cause of the fire is under investigation.
