FOLSOM—A quick and coordinated response by Folsom firefighters, supported by mutual aid crews from El Dorado Hills, kept a Saturday morning garage fire from spreading into a home on Traylen Court. The incident was contained within minutes of their arrival, and both the homeowner and her pets made it out safely.
The call came in shortly after 10 a.m. reporting a structure fire at a residence in the 100 block of Traylen Court. Within minutes, the quiet neighborhood filled with the sound of sirens as multiple engines, medic units, and command staff from the Folsom Fire Department rolled onto the cul-de-sac.
Dispatch orders to the call included Engines 34, 37 and 38, Truck 35, medic units, and battalion chiefs. El Dorado Hills Fire Department crews were also dispatched as part of the mutual aid system, bringing additional personnel and equipment to support the incident.

When the first units arrived, they encountered heavy smoke and flames confined to the garage of the single-family home. Firefighters launched an aggressive attack on the blaze, quickly knocking down the flames and preventing fire from spreading into the living areas or outside of the garage. Their rapid action limited the damage and protected much of the home’s interior.
One homeowner was inside at the time of the fire but was able to escape unharmed. Firefighters also removed one cat from the residence safely, while a second cat was believed to be hiding inside but was thought to be safe, according to early radio traffic from the scene. Two vehicles parked inside the garage sustained fire damage, though the blaze did not spread beyond that area.
Crews remained on scene afterward to assist with property recovery and to ensure the fire was fully extinguished. The situation was brought under control quickly, and no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
