The Folsom Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #929 is celebrating the return of one of its most esteemed members, Peter Ackers, after a landmark year of service as Grand Worthy President of the international Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Ackers, a 30-year member of the Folsom chapter, spent the past year traveling across the United States and Canada, visiting more than 350 local Aeries and serving as the leading representative of the organization’s mission of brotherhood, service, and community. His term as 2024–2025 Grand Worthy President brought both national recognition and support to critical causes close to his heart.
Throughout his tenure, Ackers dedicated his efforts to supporting Parkinson’s Disease research at the University of Iowa and the Mighty Oaks Foundation, a national nonprofit that offers faith-based peer support to military veterans, active-duty service members, and first responders coping with PTSD and other challenges.
“Peter’s leadership has brought meaningful attention and funding to these causes on a continental scale, and we couldn’t be more proud to welcome him home,” the local Aerie said in a statement.
To mark his homecoming, the Folsom Eagles Lodge will host a two-day celebration on Friday, August 8, and Saturday, August 9, beginning at noon both days. The lodge will open its doors to members and invited local dignitaries for food, drinks, games, and camaraderie. While Saturday evening’s Homecoming Dinner will be a private, invitation-only event, the organization emphasized that members of the public are welcome during the daytime festivities.
“We invite the Folsom community to join us during the daytime hours to celebrate a truly remarkable year of service by one of our own,” the Eagles shared in their announcement.
The Folsom Eagles Lodge is located at 215 Scott Street in Historic Folsom. For more information, contact the Aerie at eagles929info@gmail.com.
