Following a strong showing in the summer league, Folsom High School alum Jordan Ford has been signed to attend Sacramento Kings training camp.

Now with a signed training camp contract, Ford will move forward with a chance to contest for a point guard position where he could ultimately back up Kings stars De’Aaron Ford and Davion Mitchell, should he successfully advance through training camp.

In addition to his advancement into training Camp, it was announced this week that Ford may be a candidate for a two-way contract with the franchise. Such a deal would share his time between the Sacramento Kings and the Stockton Kings (G League).

Ford was best known during his time at Folsom for his success not only on the court but also in competitive chess.  Now at age 25 the former local has found his way to leading the Kings in scoring and assists at the recent Las Vegas Summer League.

During the recent stint, Ford averaged 16.3 points and 5.3 assists, shot 49% from the field, 31.6% from 3-point range and 75% at the free-throw line.  Prior to summer, he had a strong 2022 season in G league competition.

“I’m just trying to take it one game at a time and showcase my skills to the best of my ability. My goal is always, whatever I’m doing, whether it’s summer league or G League, wherever I’m playing, my goal is always to win, “ Ford said during his summer league press conference. “That’s always my main objective.”
