Two of Folsom’s most respected civic leaders will be recognized this summer for their lasting impact on the city they helped shape. Folsom History has announced that former mayors Bob Holderness and Glenn Fait will be honored at the 2025 History Makers Dinner, taking place Thursday, July 24 at the Bacchus House Wine Bar & Bistro.

The annual event celebrates individuals who have made significant contributions to Folsom’s heritage, development, and community spirit. This year’s honorees are remembered not only for their leadership in city government, but for the enduring legacy they left on the city’s infrastructure, economy, and quality of life.

Bob Holderness served on the Folsom City Council from 1990 to 1998, including three years as mayor from 1992 to 1995. A distinguished attorney and civic advocate, Holderness was instrumental in major projects that continue to benefit the region today. Among his most notable accomplishments were spearheading the approval and construction of the Lake Natoma Crossing bridge, which greatly improved connectivity across the American River, and leading efforts to restore passenger rail service to Folsom, enhancing regional transportation.

He also played a central role in negotiating funding for the expansion of State Route 50 to improve commuter traffic between Rancho Cordova and El Dorado Hills. In addition, Holderness chaired the Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District during the implementation of clean fuel incentive programs.

Glenn Fait served on the City Council from 1994 to 1998 and held the mayoral seat from 1995 to 1997. Known for his inclusive and community-oriented leadership, Fait guided the city during a time of rapid expansion, ensuring that growth remained sustainable and community-driven. He was a strong advocate for preserving the city’s historical identity, both as President of the Folsom Historical Society and through his own hands-on efforts, including the personal restoration of the historic Cohn Mansion. Fait also supported the development of public infrastructure and services to meet the needs of Folsom’s evolving population, while consistently championing diversity and inclusive representation throughout the community.

The History Makers Dinner will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2025, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Bacchus House Wine Bar & Bistro, located at 1004 E. Bidwell Street in Folsom. Early bird tickets are priced at $155 per person through June 15, with standard pricing of $175 per person beginning June 16.
