Fire crews from Folsom, El Dorado Hills, and the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District were dispatched to a structure fire at a home in the Willow Creek community early Sunday morning that forced residents out of, and caused significant damage to their home.

At 1:40 a.m., 911 dispatch received a call reporting that the residence was on fire and that all occupants had safely evacuated. Crews arrived within minutes to find the roof of the two-story home actively burning, with flames visible along the upper structure and a fence adjacent to the home.

Multiple engines, two truck companies, and several medic units from all three agencies responded, along with battalion chiefs and support personnel. Firefighters mounted an offensive attack from both inside and outside the structure to quickly knock down the flames before they could spread.

Once inside, crews encountered heavy smoke in the attic and confirmed the fire was concentrated in that space. Firefighters reported the active fire was knocked down within 10 minutes of arrival at which point they began checking for any extension into other parts of the home. With no additional spread found, crews transitioned into recovery mode, assisting with salvaging belongings affected by the fire, according to incident radio traffic confirmed by Folsom Times.
