The Folsom Police Department has partnered with the Drug Enforcement Administration for National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day which is this Saturday October 28.
From 10 a.m. – 2 p.m, the department will, be hosting its local Drug Take Back event which will be held at the Folsom Fire Department’s Station 35 at 535 Glenn Drive, near Walmart, due to other scheduled events at the police station.
The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications. Much like Folsom, agencies nationwide will be holding such events this Saturday.
Help keep old prescription drugs from falling into the wrong hands by disposing of them at this event.
To drop off your medications:
Please put all pills into a clear zipper sealed bag.
Please leave all liquids, gels, and creams tightly sealed in their original containers
Please remove labels with identifying information from any container
The event can accept:
Old prescription medications
Vape pens with battery cartridges removed
E-cigarettes with battery cartridges removed
The event cannot accept:
Intra-venous solutions
Injectables
Syringes
Illicit substances, such as marijuana or methamphetamine
Vape pens or e-cigarettes with non-removeable batteries
Inhalers
