Just days after he was reported acting suspicious at a Folsom elementary school, and placed on pre-trial probation for an outstanding firearm warrant, Peining Wang, 62, of Folsom is back behind bars after multiple firearms were found during a probation search at his home Thursday.

On Jan. 29, Folsom Police responded to reports of a suspicious man on the grounds of Blanche Sprentz Elementary School located at 249 Flower Drive in Folsom. Employees at the school reported that a man was allegedly asking “odd questions,” and was reportedly taking photos of the exterior of the school before entering the facility.

Officers responded to the school and identified Wang. Officers recognized him from prior calls of similar suspicious activity, similar to this incident, according to the report. That day, Wang was arrested for an outstanding warrant for possession of an assault weapon that was unrelated to the call at the school, where he was noted to be unarmed.  He was booked into the Sacramento County Jail and released on bail.

Folsom Police explained that the outstanding warrant Wang was arrested for stemmed from a firearm that Wang had turned in to the Folsom Police department months earlier, which was later determined to be an illegal weapon.
