A Folsom Middle School aide has been taken into custody and faces multiple charges of child sexual abuse, according to the Folsom Police Department in a news release Friday morning.

According to the Police Department, the Folsom Police Department Sexual Assault Detectives obtained an arrest warrant following an ongoing investigation and and have taken Gary S Jimenez Jr, 23,  into custody. Jimenez is a Folsom Resident and was a Special Education Teacher Aide for the Folsom Cordova Unified School District.

On August 31, the Folsom Police Department was originally contacted by Folsom Cordova Unified School District officials regarding an incident that had been reported on campus of Folsom Middle School earlier that day. Through their investigation, Detectives discovered multiple counts of Lewd Acts with A Child Under 14 Years Old, Oral Copulation With a Person Under 14 Years Old, and Kidnapping.

During the final months of the 2022-2023 school year, Jimenez was employed by a temp agency and detectives found that he was also placed at Oak Chan Elementary School. Other than these two FCUSD schools, detectives believe Jimenez may have been temporarily employed at other area school districts.

The charges stemming from this warrant arrest are believed to have taken place at Folsom Middle School, Folsom Police stated. Jimenez was booked at the Sacramento County Main Jail on numerous felony charges. Bail is set at $1.4 Million. Prior to the announcement of the on Friday, Folsom Police and officials from the Folsom Cordova Unified School District met with Folsom Middle School staff to advise them of the arrest so they could be prepared for communications with parents as necessary.
