The Folsom Police Department has released detailed information on a multi-month investigation that resulted in the apprehension of a known drug dealer who is now in Sacramento County Jail without the option for bail. 

After compiling evidence in their investigation that began early this summer, detectives from the Folsom Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) served a search warrant on William Rivera, 23 of Sacramento. According to Folsom Police, Rivera is a known drug dealer that has been working throughout multiple communities within Sacramento County, including the City of Folsom. The report notes that Rivera has been active in neighboring counties as well.

During the search warrant, Rivera reportedly fled the home and jumped a side yard fence in an attempt to run from the officers. He was quickly apprehended.  Upon the search of the suspect and his location, SIU Detectives reportedly recovered approximately 8,000 pills including Alprazolam, Oxycodone and Adderall, which is suspected to be counterfeit.  Officers also collected a supply of Psilocybin mushrooms, LSD, various cannabis products and nearly $8,000.00 in cash.

Rivera was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on numerous narcotic sales related charges. “Due to the extent of his drug sales activity and danger posed to the public, a Sacramento County Superior Court Judge ordered that he be held without bail,” reads a statement from the Folsom Police Department in regards to the arrest coming without the eligibility for bail. “Our SIU Detectives are committed to keeping the Folsom community safe from narcotics and the inherent dangers associated with drug sales.”

According to Sacramento County Jail records, Rivera was booked on five felony charges and one misdemeanor related to drug possession and sales. Additionally he has an outstanding warrant for felony false imprisonment and
