Five individuals, including two adults, and three minors, were arrested following a shoplifting incident on the 13000 block of Folsom Boulevard on Thursday evening. 

Accordign to newly released details from the Folsom Police Depsrtment, atapproximately 5:18 p.m on Oct. 17 Folsom Police received a report of a theft in progress at a local business. Officers from the department’s Problem Oriented Policing (POP) team responded promptly and identified the suspect vehicle as it was leaving the area, initiating a brief pursuit. The vehicle stopped in a nearby neighborhood, where three of the five occupants fled on foot.

A perimeter was quickly established, and the California Highway Patrol (CHP) helicopter was requested to assist in locating the suspects. The coordinated response led to the swift capture of all five individuals.

During the investigation, officers recovered more than $2,300 in stolen merchandise, which was returned to the store.

The two adult suspects, Diamond Joyner, 20, and Avamarie Almand, 23, both of Sacramento, were arrested and booked into Sacramento County Main Jail. The three remaining suspects, all juveniles, were transported to Sacramento County Juvenile Hall.

All five face charges under California Penal Code 490.4(A)(2), which pertains to organized retail theft.
