Ariel Jean, Beau Jeffers, Lance Michael Cornwell, Mere Mortals and Ryder Green Band headline a holiday weekend full of live music and local spirit
With cowboy hats dusted off, boots hitting the dirt, and red, white and blue lighting up the night sky, there’s no better place to wind down after a day at the Folsom Pro Rodeo than Powerhouse Pub. Just a short ride from the arena action, Historic Folsom’s premier live music venue is saddling up for a weekend packed with country soul, blues grit, and crowd-pleasing rock to help locals and visitors alike keep the celebration rolling long after the fireworks fade.
Things kick off on Friday, July 4, with the Beau Jeffers Hardcore Honkytonk 4th of July Party starting at 10:00 p.m. Known throughout the region as “the real deal,” Beau Jeffers is steeped in traditional country influences and brings an unapologetically authentic sound to the stage. His live shows are a tribute to legends like George Strait, Alan Jackson, Merle Haggard, Chris Stapleton, and Cody Johnson—artists whose songs speak to hard work, heartbreak, and honkytonk pride. Jeffers doesn’t chase trends—he plays real country for real country fans, making his Powerhouse debut a must-see for rodeo weekend.
On Saturday, July 5, the festivities continue with the Saturday afternoon dance party featuring the Mere Mortals at 3:00 p.m. A Sacramento staple since 2001, this high-energy band blends classic rock from the ’60s through the ’90s with touches of R&B and blues-rock. With a deep catalog of over 100 crowd favorites, the Mere Mortals tailor every set to the room, guaranteeing a good-time performance that keeps dancers on their feet and first-timers coming back for more.

Saturday night turns the spotlight back to country with a performance by Lance Michael Cornwell at 10:00 p.m. One of Northern California’s rising stars in the country-rock scene, Cornwell brings the best of both worlds—90s country storytelling mixed with a modern, high-octane sound. His dynamic stage presence and rich vocal range have earned him spots opening for stars like Justin Moore, Jordan Davis, and Chris Young. With his new single “Come Around & See” continuing to build momentum, Cornwell is bringing a fresh edge to the genre while staying true to its roots—a perfect fit for Folsom’s rodeo crowd and country faithful.
Closing out the weekend on Sunday, July 6, is the return of Powerhouse of Blues with a 3:00 p.m. show by the Ryder Green Band. Known for their blistering blend of blues, rock, funk, and groove, Ryder Green and his band deliver performances that balance grit and soul with tight musicianship. They’ll be joined by special guest Derek Fresquez for what promises to be a standout afternoon of heartfelt originals and expertly chosen covers—a fitting finale to a weekend of big sound and bigger energy.

Before the weekend officially arrives, country fans can get a jumpstart on the fun with Free Country Thursday on July 3, featuring the Ariel Jean Band. The evening begins with free line dance lessons at 7:00 p.m., followed by live music at 8:30 p.m. Admission is free for this 21+ event. Known for their unique blend of sibling harmonies and original American country sound, the Ariel Jean Band has quickly earned acclaim from both fans and media. The NorCal-based trio of sisters—Ariel Jean, Amber Joy, and Aubrey Anne—has performed live on Good Day Sacramento, Fox40, and shared stages with some of the biggest names in country music, including Tim McGraw, Midland, Sam Hunt, and Little Big Town. Their vibrant stage presence and original songwriting make this the perfect kickoff for a weekend packed with Folsom pride.
