Parents invited to learn about 6th grade launch and upcoming expansion plans
Families interested in Folsom Preparatory School’s upcoming expansion into middle school will have the opportunity to learn more during a dedicated Middle School Information Night this week.
Folsom Prep will host the parent information meeting on Thursday, Feb. 12, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at its campus located at 650 Willard Drive in Folsom. The event will focus specifically on the school’s expansion plans, which begin with the addition of 6th grade in the 2026-2027 school year, with plans to grow into 7th and 8th grade in subsequent years.
School leaders say the Middle School Information Night is designed to give parents a deeper look at the academic curriculum, enrichment offerings, student life and enrollment process as the private campus prepares to extend its TK-5th grade model into the middle school years.
Attendees will learn more about Folsom Prep’s academic and enrichment programs, which include STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math), music and drama, technology, physical education, art and Life Lab (Social & Emotional Learning). Representatives will also discuss how the school’s whole-child approach will carry forward into middle school, emphasizing both academic rigor and social-emotional development during the pivotal preteen years.
Folsom Prep has built its reputation on small class sizes and individualized instruction, with an average student-to-teacher ratio of 16:1. Administrators say that personalized learning model will continue as the school expands, allowing educators to differentiate instruction for students who need additional support as well as those ready for more challenging coursework.
The Info Night will also provide parents with insight into student leadership opportunities and character education, including the continued integration of The 7 Habits of Happy Kids program, adapted from Stephen Covey’s The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Families will be able to meet faculty, ask questions about daily student life and understand how the school plans to structure the transition into middle school.
Folsom Prep was recently recognized as Folsom’s #1 Private School by Style Magazine for the seventh year, an honor school officials say reflects strong parent engagement and satisfaction within the community.
