The Folsom Public Library is turning up the page this summer, inviting residents of all ages to take part in its annual Summer Reading Challenge. The 2025 edition is kicking off this month and runs through July, offering a fun and rewarding way to dive into books during the sunny season.
Participants are encouraged to read or listen to five books over the course of the two-month challenge. Young readers and teens who complete the challenge will receive a free book, a book bag, and a chance to win a $100 gift card through a prize drawing. Adults who finish five books will also receive a book bag and be entered into the drawing.
The challenge is easy to join. Participants can pick up a bingo-style game card at the Folsom Public Library or go digital by signing up through the Beanstack Tracker app at folsom.beanstack.org. Whether flipping pages or listening to audiobooks, readers can track their progress and stay motivated throughout the summer.
In addition to the reading challenge, the library is offering a wide lineup of summer programming for children. These include daily story times, weekly crafts, LEGO activities, and a monthly kids’ book club, all designed to keep young minds engaged and creative during the school break. More information about summer events is available at www.folsom.ca.us/library.
The Summer Reading Challenge is made possible through the support of the Friends of the Folsom Library, a nonprofit organization that helps fund programs and resources for the community.
