What was just bare dirt in the heat of summertime is taking shape in the Folsom Ranch community south of Highway 50. Many of the walls are now up on what will soon be the newest fire station for the City of Folsom.

The future Folsom Fire Station 34 site is located at 3255 Westwood  Drive. After breaking ground earlier this summer construction is continuing on schedule for the facility that is expected to open in the summer of 2024.

The new station will be the first of two in the newly developed Folsom Ranch area of Folsom. D.L. Falk Construction is the contractor building the project that had an approved budget of $11,860,200.

Future Fire Station 34, will be an important addition to Folsom’s emergency response infrastructure. As Folsom continues to grow, the station will help ensure the community’s safety by improving response times and expanding coverage.

Equipped with modern facilities and advanced firefighting equipment, Fire Station 34 will enhance the city’s ability to protect residents and property.

The station will staff an Advanced Life Support Type 1 Engine and cross-staff a Type 3 Engine with three full-time firefighters daily.

Earlier this year, the Folsom Fire Department welcomed its largest group of new recruits when it swore in 19 new firefighters and paramedics. A number of those recruits will be placed to staff the new station when it is put into operation.
