Mas Taco Bar, a popular Folsom eatery located in the Palladio shopping center has received top honors for exceptional food safety practices by the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors. 

The local restaurant was among  awarded a 19th Annual Environmental Management Food Safety Award of Excellence by District 4 Supervisor Sue Frost. This special  award recognizes establishments that have achieved at least three or more consecutive health inspections without major violations, highlighting their dedication to maintaining high food safety standards.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimate that annually in the U.S., 48 million people fall ill, 128,000 are hospitalized, and 3,000 die from foodborne diseases. Mas Taco Bar’s achievement underscores the importance of rigorous food safety measures in protecting public health.

Sacramento County’s Environmental Management Department (EMD) supports local food facilities through its food protection program and free food safety classes, focusing on preventing food contamination, maintaining facility sanitation, and adhering to proper time/temperature control and personal hygiene.

In addition to Mas Taco Bar, other recipients of the Environmental Management Food Safety Award of Excellence this year  included Yume Gelato in Sacramento (District 1, Supervisor Phil Serna), Samosa Garden in Sacramento (District 2, Supervisor Patrick Kennedy), Del’s Pizza in Fair Oaks (District 3, Supervisor Rich Desmond), and Full Moon Palace in Galt (District 5, Supervisor Pat Hume).
