The Folsom Teen Council has been honored with the Sacramento County District 4 Community Achievement Award for its exceptional contributions during the 2023-24 school year. The group of dedicated teens collectively volunteered more than 1,610 hours, supporting a wide range of events and initiatives throughout the City of Folsom.
From organizing school events to assisting with non-profit fundraisers and citywide activities, the Teen Council has been instrumental in enhancing community life. Their efforts included helping with the annual Folsom Runway show, city park clean-ups, and charity drives benefiting local families. The council members also played key roles in planning and executing community festivals, parades, and holiday events, showcasing their dedication to civic responsibility and leadership.
The award, part of Sacramento County Supervisor Sue Frost’s District 4 Community Achievement Initiative, recognizes individuals and organizations that positively impact their communities. This year, the Folsom Teen Council was widely supported in nominations from residents, who praised the group’s tireless efforts and their positive influence on local youth.
